Today, I want to share insights from a study that my brother, Pastor Evangelist Mike Onyebuchi, preached.

Ministry Name: Gospel Epiphany - Where the truth of the Lord is unveiled.

Series: The Doctrine of Jesus Christ

Subject: The Humanity of Christ

Mike emphasized, "It was necessary for God Almighty to become a man to make atonement for the sins of mankind."

He further explained that although Christ has a dual nature, he retained his divine nature fully while also embracing his human nature: he is both, equally. One of the most profound aspects of his message was how Jesus is not two separate beings; he is fully God and fully man at the same time.

I particularly appreciate how Mike embodies this truth in his own life. When you approach him with questions or troubles, he listens with compassion, reflecting the humanity of Christ. Yet, through his deep commitment to the teachings of Jesus, he also mirrors the divine wisdom of Christ. This is what makes Jesus so incredible—his divinity works through others while still remaining relatable in his humanity.

A Key Scripture:

One verse Mike highlighted that I hadn’t deeply explored before was Philippians 2:5-11:

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus…”

Jesus Christ, though fully God, did not consider equality with God something to be exploited. Instead, he humbled himself, taking the form of a servant, yet never losing his divinity.

The 10 Attributes That Make God, God:

Essential Attributes:

  1. Omnipresence – He is everywhere.

  2. Omnipotence – He is all-powerful.

  3. Omniscience – He is all-knowing.

  4. Immutability – He is unchangeable.

  5. Self-existence – He depends on no one for life.

  6. Eternal Nature – He has always existed and always will.

Moral Attributes:

7. Holiness

8. Righteousness

9. Love

10. Faithfulness

"Even as a man, Jesus still possessed all of these divine attributes."

Other Scriptures from His Message:

  • Philippians 2:5-11

  • John 3:13

  • Matthew 28:19-20

  • John 6:36

  • John 2:24-25

  • Hebrews 1:12; Hebrews 13:8

  • John 5:26

  • Matthew 1:24

  • Revelation 4:8

  • 1 Peter 1:5-16

  • 1 Corinthians 1:30

  • John 3:16

  • 1 John 4:16-19

  • John 14:6

  • 1 John 5:20

  • Hebrews 2:17

Key Takeaway: "He didn’t lose his divinity—he was 100% man and 100% God at the same time. Because he was like us, he is able to understand and feel our human nature. The more we see Jesus, the more we become like him."

A Prayer to Receive Christ:

Dear Lord Jesus, I believe you died on the cross for my sins. I believe you rose from the dead for my justification. Come into my heart. Be my Lord and my Savior. Holy Spirit, fill me with your power. Holy Spirit, fill me with your holiness. Holy Spirit, help me to live a life of holiness and righteousness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Mike concluded with: “Have a blessed, blessed, blessed & wonderful day. God bless you!”
