"Sometimes you have to pick up your big girl panties and deal with it"- May. 3/24

Those were some wonderful words of wisdom from my ‘auntie’. Auntie Verlyn Berlin, the cook at the fishing lodge my parents managed- she used to listen to me read all of my little kid stories I was always so patient with me, and then also giving me a little taste tests for what the guests would have later.

When I was younger I didn’t really understand the saying and the value in it, but now I do. I came across one of my childhood journals where I use this phrase. Naturally I message auntie Verlyn on facebook, to show her my old 11 year old journal:

But the advice really is true- sometimes we really just have to pull up our big girl panties and deal with it.” Poetically, I cant help but expand in relation-- I do not want to wet the bed/soil a situation, so I need to pull up my big girl panties and follow my (sweet) dreams, bravely.

Ps. I searched this phrase and found this meme, but I still hear it in my head as Auntie Verlyn said it.
