Photography & My Mentor Crystal

Photography has helped me rediscover a part of myself—a part that exists outside of motherhood, yet still deeply connected to it.

Through this journey, I’ve been blessed to learn from the most incredible teacher and photographer, Crystal Mercredi. She’s not just a mentor; she’s someone who has profoundly influenced my life. The friendship and bond we’ve built through this shared passion mean more to me than she’ll ever know.

Crystal has been there through moments that would’ve made others walk away. She waited patiently while I battled pregnancy sickness—puking during multiple sessions—but she never wavered. Her compassion and encouragement carried me through those difficult times and reminded me of the beauty in both the chaos and the calm.

Her company, @lifeandportraitsphotography, reflects her unmatched talent, artistry, and heart. I recommend her to anyone and everyone, not just for her incredible work, but for the person she is.

I’m endlessly grateful for her teaching, her creativity, and her ability to see beyond the lens. But most of all, I’m grateful for her heart—a heart that’s left a lasting impact on mine.
