This story has come up in my mind for the last two weeks, and I’ve failed to take the time to write it down.
For those that don’t know, I grew up partly on a fishing lodge in the summer of elementary school. There wasn’t much, but there was fishing.
It was my job as a big sister to watch my little siblings for morning to night- but at one point they still napped. I often spent their nap time writing. But on this day, I decided I would go cast off the dock.
I spent what seemed like forever and took what seemed like 1000 casts, Before I gave up. Grudgingly, knowing that I just wasted my only break of nap time over nothing, I packed up the tacklebox, rod, and started heading back to the cabin.
But all of a sudden I heard a completely completely clear voice say “ cast one more time.” I was really caught off guard…but for some reason I listened anyway.
I unpacked the rod and put a spoon on my line one more time, then casted it out. That day I caught one of the biggest fish I ever have. I think it was a northern pike.
The point of the story is to listen, even when things don’t make sense. Oh, that child like Faith, doesn’t seem to make sense to most at the time… but thankfully, God sees children when others don’t.
To whoever reads this- I hope you listen to the voice inside and cast one more time. You never know what you might catch on the other side.
